Yes, you read that correctly. Though Anthro is known for clothes, accessories, and our favorite candle, it boasts an extensive home department, too, filled with everything from Parisian-inspired mirrors to Art Deco furnishings and beautiful rugs. “It has a large variety of really nice furniture that pairs well with many types of interiors, from traditional to modern,” designer Laura Hur says. Hur launched Lorla Studio after a decade of experience working for New York design firms JFD Studio and Gensler, and loves shopping at Anthro for finishing touches.“It’s great for finding the piece you need to complete a room, such as a side table or occasional chair. It offers a lot of great fabric options on most of its furniture as well.”

Those who appreciate classic style with a bit of a twist will fall head over heels for mid-priced Ballard Designs, which designer Cameron Jones appreciates for being “on trend without feeling trendy.” Jones also maintains the blog Adorned Abode and adds, “It has a good mix of updated pieces grounded in the traditional, which is right up my design aesthetic alley.”

Known largely for its custom sofas, Interior Define also sells tables, ottomans, sideboards, and more, with many pieces leaning mid-century modern. “It’s one of my favorite places to find good-looking and reasonably priced leather and upholstered pieces,” Jones explains.

Dating back to 1889, Bernhardt has been a longtime staple and is a favorite of Northern Virginia designer Maria Loveless, who has worked on commercial and residential projects alike since entering the business in 2007. “It’s a higher-end brand, beautiful with such a modern edge,” she says. “It falls into a transitional-contemporary style which seems to be so popular in our area at the moment.” Bernhardt products are available at retailers across the country and online at Wayfair, Houzz, and Horchow. And while Bernhardt offers furniture for every room in the home, Loveless can’t get enough of one type offering in particular. “Its sofas are gorgeous and comfortable, and its fabrics are great quality,” she says. “My clients love them!”

Known for its luxe, eclectic pieces, Arteriors Home is a designer fave. “I love its side tables, light fixtures, and accent pieces,” says designer Elizabeth Stamos, who has operated her own firm since 2013. “It always has beautiful details like leather wrapped bases or rattan shade sconces, to name a few, that really upgrade these accent pieces.” Designer Eneia White—who studied under high-end designers and architects in DC, LA, and New York—agrees. “I love Arteriors because it’s the perfect blend of classic and trendy,” she explains. “We can always find bold shapes throughout its collections to ground our designs.”

This New Orleans-based company, which you can also find on Houzz, offers beautiful pedestal tables, outdoor club chairs covered in palm printed fabric, mid-century style coffee tables, and more. “It makes beautiful dining tables and case goods,” says Stamos, who appreciates the pieces’ classic lines yet current aesthetic. “It feels bespoke and it’s a great small business to support.”

Offering large furniture as well as decorative accents—think everything from colorful glass bowls to sculptures—Global Views is perfect for the collector. Modern daybeds, fluted credenzas, and classic bar carts make up just some of the products you can shop. “Polished yet casual describes many of its pieces, so we tend to source pieces for fancier spaces from its collection,” White notes.

Vintage lovers, rejoice—this independent New Orleans retailer is chock-full of stunning secondhand pieces as well as contemporary finds like bouclé chairs, rattan pendants, and tufted pieces galore. “It has a wonderfully curated mix of new, vintage, and antique pieces,” Hur says. “It’s a great resource for sourcing a special piece of furniture that you don’t see everywhere.”

Raleigh, North Carolina designer Liz Goldberg greatly appreciates Urban Electric Co’s light fixtures and recently had the opportunity to visit its Charleston, South Carolina showroom. “Its program allows us to be able to scale their lighting to our needs and select from very unique metal and paint finishes,” she adds, referring to the company’s custom offerings. “This aligns perfectly with one of our core CAROLYNLEONA beliefs that great lighting is the jewelry in the room that truly finishes the space, just like the perfect jewelry will complete your outfit,” says Goldberg.

Designer Pamela O’Brien, who specializes in both luxury residential and commercial work, enjoys shopping at Vanguard, which offers customizable furnishings for every room in the house. “I love the design and quality it provides,” she says. “The upholstery is attractive, sturdy, and stylish, and there are a lot of nice fabrics.
