Xem Thêm : The Unsung New Orleans Cocktail to Drink All Fall
I’m not knocking eggnog. And mugs of mulled wine or cider are just the thing to start a holiday party. But I miss margaritas.
I’m sure diehards order the citrusy, salt-rimmed drink in the dead of winter, but I’ve always associated margaritas with sandy beaches and long, sun-filled days. But as we approach the darkest, longest night of the year, I’m craving some ‘rita warmth. And this bright hibiscus cocktail is just the thing.

Flavored with the depth of aged tequila and bright lime juice, the drink gets its color (and sweetness) from agave nectar and a homemade hibiscus syrup. To make the syrup, bring a 2:1:1 ratio of water, dry hibiscus flowers, and sugar to a boil. Then just remove from the heat and strain. You can immediately add the syrup to your shaker and start mixing your drink. Garnished with a cinnamon sugar rim and a lime wedge, one sip and you’ll feel holiday cheer in no time.
What’s your favorite wintertime cocktail? Do you throw sipping with the seasons to the wind?
