The season for holiday party panic is upon us, but take a deep breath. We’re going to get through this. Pour yourself a glass of Scotch, make a grocery list, and let’s talk about decorations.

With Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, and New Years within almost a month of one another, you may be mentally preparing yourself to host more than one party, but if you play your cards right, you can use a few simple decorations for all four of these holidays. These chevron placecards are simple and modern, and the wood-grain cardstock has a warm, homey feel that works for any holiday dinner. If you want to add a touch of green to your table, you can weave a sprig of rosemary, thyme, or holly through the slits. You can even repurpose the cutout chevron shapes to make a little paper garland, like I did.

Supplies:
– several sheets of wood-grain card stock or paper-thin wood (available from stores like Paper Presentation)
– a pair of scissors (we especially like these)
– a pen

Instructions:

1. Cut card stock into 3 x 3 1/2-inch rectangles and fold in half vertically.
