Perennial Plate

As you may know, we’ve been hosting Perennial Plate‘s videos every week since they set off on their cross-country real food road trip in May. This weekend, Perennial Plate is stopping in Detroit and will be teaming up with Detroit Dirt — a community composting initiative run by farmers for farmers — for a composting extravaganza!

Our own mariaraynal has been helping organize the event, along with Lisa Ludwinski of Funny Side Up and Julie Alvin of AutoWeek. If you live in the Detroit area, please come out and join the effort! They need between 5 and 15 volunteers who are willing to get their hands dirty to help organize, build and process the compost pile this Sunday afternoon. The fruits of your labor will be celebrated with a meal prepared by Perennial Plate’s own Daniel Klein using fresh produce from the hosting venue, Brother Nature farm. Here are the details:

Who: Greg Willerer, owner of Brother Nature Produce farm and co-founder of Detroit Dirt + Daniel Klein of Perennial Plate + YOU!

Where: Brother Nature Produce — the farm that Greg runs (find him selling produce at the Detroit Eastern Market on Saturdays!)
